This freshly milled rye flour is dark and aromatic, naturally rich in fibre, minerals, and flavour.

Because rye contains less gluten than wheat, it behaves a little differently in baking—often producing denser, more flavourful loaves with a unique texture. For bakers willing to embrace its character, rye offers results that are nourishing, aromatic, and full of tradition.
It is sourced from Burrum Biodynamics, which are a Victorian farm. They biodynamically farm, which is one better than organic! They don’t use any pesticides or herbicides on their crop, and they process the grains on their farm, meaning they can guarantee the grain is never desiccated by glyphosate. Being biodynamic, they really focus on soil health by rotating crops so that the legumes set up a nitrogen base for the grains, followed by a resting period to allow the soil to recover.

Your flour will be freshly milled within 2-3 business days of your order. We mill to order to ensure maximum freshness and nutritional value.

While the most fragile nutrients are highest in the first 72 hours, our flour remains rich in flavour, aroma and nourishment for several weeks. That’s still far beyond anything store-bought can offer. For peak nutrition, use it soon after arrival — or store it in the freezer to lock in the goodness. Use within 3 months of milling.
